There have been so many challenges over the past couple of years, with new ways of working and increased pressure because of the Covid 19 pandemic. You may have noticed an improvement in the way that you work with your team. If you have been working from home, perhaps that has given you some much needed respite from your journey to work.


It also might have been a significant challenge due to increased pressures and having to suddenly change the way you were working.

Either way, during the pandemic and before, you may have felt like you didn’t have time to process things that happen over the course of your work week. Maybe there have been incidents on the ward you work on and due to how busy things are you don’t feel you have the space to reflect on what has happened.

We have partnered with Mind in the City, Hackney and Waltham Forest to roll out a programme that has been shown to enhance wellbeing in the workplace and to offer new and creative ways of approaching situations, both in your own life and at work.

This supportive, reflective space is separate from your day-to-day work duties and from line management considerations in order to support your wellbeing and self-development.

The sessions which take place during your working week to focus on your emotional and physical wellbeing, and to reflect upon the impact of work on your quality of life.

The small, supportive group sessions take place twice a month over Zoom, over a minimum 4-month span. In addition, there are opportunities for one-to-one sessions with the group facilitator to focus on specific areas of personal and professional development.

You will attend with other members of your team, the focus will be to:

  1. Learn from each other through mutual support and self-expression.
  2. Increase self-care and other strategies that support your wellbeing.
  3. Build reflective skills in the area of emotional, social and workplace dynamics.
  4. Hone psychological skills such as flexibility, emotion regulation, mindfulness, & values-based action.

The sessions will be trauma-informed and highlight compassion-focused practice

What to Expect

The small group sessions take place via Zoom over eight fortnightly sessions with no more than five people per group. There will also be one-to-one sessions available in case you need to focus on specific areas of personal and professional development.

The space is confidential and your discussions will not be shared with anyone else unless you or someone else may be at risk of harm. In this case, information would be shared to ensure that adequate support is found. We would always seek to discuss this with you first
